Who we are

Ajiye is an invoicing and payment-confirmation service for businesses in Nigeria, used mainly through WhatsApp. It is operated by AJIYE TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED, whose details are shown at the top of this page.

AJIYE TECHNOLOGIES LIMITED is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. Questions or requests: support@ajiye.com, or message us in the Ajiye WhatsApp chat.

What we collect

Your WhatsApp identity: the ID WhatsApp gives us for your account and, if WhatsApp shares it, your phone number, plus your display name and preferred language.

Your business details: trade name, trade, state and LGA, business type, and only if you add them, your TIN and CAC number.

The bank account your payments settle to. We keep the account number encrypted and show only its last four digits.

The invoices you create, the customers you add to them (name and, if you give it, phone number), and the payment confirmations we receive from our payment processor.

The messages you send us, so we can respond. We do not collect your BVN or NIN, and we never see card details.

On our website: the pages you visit, counted in aggregate by privacy-friendly analytics that use no cookies and respect Do Not Track, and standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) kept for security. The only cookies we set are the one that keeps you signed in to the dashboard and the one that remembers your language.

WhatsApp messages

You start the conversation with Ajiye on WhatsApp, and we only message you after you have read and accepted how we use your details. We send you messages about your account, your invoices and your payments, and the sign-in links for your dashboard. We never message your customers: you choose what to forward to them.

To stop our messages at any time, reply STOP. To start them again, reply START. You can also switch messages off in the dashboard settings.

WhatsApp is provided by Meta, which handles the messages under its own terms and privacy policy.

Why we use it

To provide the service you signed up for: create invoices, set up payment instructions with our payment processor, confirm payments and keep your track record. This is necessary to perform our contract with you.

To meet legal obligations, such as keeping financial records and preventing fraud.

Only if you agree separately: to turn free-text messages and photos into invoice drafts using an AI service provider (you always confirm the draft), and to understand how the service is used so we can improve it. You can withdraw an optional consent at any time; the service keeps working without it.

Payments

Payments are processed by our licensed payment processor, Paystack. Your customer pays by bank transfer to the account shown on the invoice; Paystack confirms the payment to us and settles the money directly to your bank account. Ajiye never holds your money.

Paystack receives the details it needs to process and confirm payments, and handles them under its own privacy policy.

Who we share it with

Service providers who process data for us under contract: Meta (WhatsApp messaging), Paystack (payments and bank account checks), our hosting and backup providers and, only with your consent, an AI service provider. Some of them operate outside Nigeria; when data leaves Nigeria, we rely on the safeguards the Nigeria Data Protection Act allows, such as contractual protections.

We do not sell your data. We do not share your records with lenders or anyone else. If that ever changes, it will require your separate, explicit choice.

We disclose data to authorities only when the law requires it.

If you are a customer of a business using Ajiye

A business that invoices you through Ajiye decides what details about you to add (usually your name and phone number). We keep them only to provide the service to that business. To see, correct or remove your details, ask the business, or contact us at support@ajiye.com.

How long we keep it

Account and invoice records are kept while your account is open, and afterwards only as long as Nigerian law requires us to keep financial records.

Message text is kept for 30 days and then deleted; we keep only a note of what kind of message it was. Photos you send for invoice drafts are deleted after 7 days. Our encrypted backups are replaced within 12 months.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, export your record, object to or restrict how we use it, withdraw consent, or ask us to delete it. Message us on WhatsApp or email support@ajiye.com. We reply within 30 days.

You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

Deleting your data

To delete your account and data yourself: open your dashboard (reply DASHBOARD in the WhatsApp chat to get a sign-in link), go to Settings, choose “Close account and delete data” and confirm. Deletion usually completes within minutes.

Or ask us: write to us in the WhatsApp chat (for example, “delete my account”), or email support@ajiye.com and we will confirm it is you through your WhatsApp chat. We complete the request within 30 days.

What is deleted: your WhatsApp identity and messages, your profile, your sign-in sessions and any photos you sent. What is kept: invoices, payment and settlement records, and your business's tax and bank details, for as long as the law requires us to keep financial records; we tell you which records we keep and until when. Deletion cannot be undone.

How we protect it

Sensitive fields are encrypted, access is limited to people who need it, personal details are removed from our logs, and your track record is linked line by line so it cannot be quietly changed. See our security page for details.

Children

Ajiye is for businesses and is not intended for anyone under 18.
